Nominations open for Science Council CPD awards

Nominations open for Science Council CPD awards
10 July 2018
IBMS members are encouraged to put themselves forward for these prestigious awards

Now in its fourth year, the Science Council will hold the CPD awards, a ceremony which recognises the achievements of scientists across the Science Council registers for excellence in CPD.

These registers include Registered Science Technician (RSciTech), Registered Scientist (RSci), Chartered Scientist (CSci) and Chartered Science Teacher (CSciTeach).

Nominations can be made by individuals, employers and licensed professional bodies. Individuals are welcome to self-nominate or nominate a person they know.

One of last year’s winners was IBMS Fellow Daisy Shale, who was honoured for having the best CPD return across all of the Licensed Bodies at CSci level.

She commented, “It is an honour to be recognised for my CPD. Being a registered professional makes me proud of the work I do and the knowledge and skills I have acquired along my career journey.
Taking ownership for my CPD & my personal development has made me realise that there is always something new to learn and that you can’t develop professionally if you don’t develop personally. Having a standard of Chartered Scientist to work towards ensures that I constantly aim to be the best I can be.”

For more information about the awards and nominations, see the guidance online, which provides the criteria used by the judging panel to assess the nominations.

To make a nomination, use the online form. Nominations close on Friday 20 July 2018 at 12pm.
