The CSO WISE Fellowship
27 March 2019
Applications for this year’s CSO WISE Fellowship are now open

Applications are now open for the CSOWISE Healthcare Science Leadership Development Programme 2019

Last year, Siobhan Taylor MIBMS, the only Clinical Scientist within a large histopathology department at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, was selected for the prestigious Chief Scientific Officer’s (CSO) Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Fellowship. Since then, she has had the opportunity to be mentored by IBMS President, Alison Geddis, as well as taking up speaking and ambassadorial opportunities through the CSO and WISE networks. She has also had the chance to join senior leaders at NHS England advisory meetings.

Siobhan commented:

"I was delighted to have been selected as one of the 2018/2019 CSO WISE fellows.  It has been a fantastic platform, helping me to realise my own leadership potential whilst giving me the tools to increase my contribution to patient care in my own trust and focus on what I need to do to achieve my career goals.  Through the fellowship, I have had the opportunity to network with the wider healthcare science community, attending and contributing at meetings on both a local and national level.  The fellowship has been the start of an exciting journey for me, something which all eligible female healthcare scientists should consider applying for."

The CSOWISE Healthcare Science Leadership Development programme is a bespoke 12 month initiative launched in partnership with WISE. This highly prestigious and competitive programme offers the opportunity to receive bespoke leadership development training and receive mentoring by senior leaders in healthcare, industry and academia, as well as speaking and ambassadorial opportunities through the CSO and WISE networks. There is also the opportunity to join senior leaders at NHS England healthcare science advisory meetings and to attend the Chief Scientific Officer’s annual conference in 2020.
