THE MICROBIAL AEROSOLS SYMPOSIUM WILL BE FOCUSED ON PROMOTING AEROBIOLOGICAL STANDARDS, PROVIDING BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE ON THE MICRO-ORGANISMS TO NEW RESEARCHERS IN THE FIELD BUT, MORE IMPORTANTLY, ON THE PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL ASPECTS OF THE AEROSOL AS AN ENVIRONMENT. NOVEL TECHNIQUES WILL BE PRIORITISED TO SUPPORT EXPANSION OF EXPERIMENTAL AND MODELLING TOOLS.

UK NEQAS Blood Coagulation annual scientific meeting – 2 days of lectures and discussion with international experts in the field of haemostasis.

This webinar provides an in depth knowledge of extracellular proteins fibrin and amyloid along with the application and principles of carbohydrate and mucin classification/demonstration. Utilises presentations, hands on and discussion-based sessions.

Innovative strategies to deliver Biomedical Science training to students

During our most recent Training for Trainers event, many people expressed an interest in a OneFile specific training session geared towards supporting portfolio verifiers to complete the necessary steps to verify their first portfolio on OneFile.

This one-hour focused webinar will include the following subject matter that covers both staining techniques:
- Brief discussion of the types of tissue elements demonstrated and their clinical significance
- An outline of the staining chemistry principles
- An outline of the UK NEQAS CPT expected optimal staining criteria
- Discussion of how failures in the protocol steps affect optimal staining performance
- Presentation of data derived from UK NEQAS CPT assessments
- Discussion of how to avoid or troubleshoot the most common staining problems
An outline of possible quality measures suitable for monitoring performance

The course will provide a sound knowledge of the basics behind IHC and participants will leave having gained the skills to perform and manipulate IHC on tissue to identify one antigen/cellular component in a single tissue section.

WORKSHOP EVENTS

This day has been designed specifically for those working towards the scientist reporting qualification and approaching or contemplating undertaking their stage A examination.
The day has been developed by Karen Ezard, Laura Saberton, Clare Raubusch who have experience in and have qualified through the part A examination.
There are Gastro-intestinal, Gynaecology and Skin modules which will run concurrently.
This is an exam preparation course. There will be advice and useful hints and tips from those that have taken the examinations along with an opportunity to discuss submitting a successful portfolio but it is not a morphology course. Participants will undertake a mock examination based around cases that might easily appear in the exam. Individual detailed feedback on performance will be provided to each candidate after the course either by e-mail or MS Teams, as per individual request.
The programme has been updated to make it suitable for those studying for the limited scope reporting options.
