HORIBA UK organises a webinar series on haematology and point-of-care. The sessions will be held on 29th and 31st of March and will offer participants the opportunity to discuss how to enable better diagnosis in haematology and point of care.

Day 1 is dedicated to quality control and a number of interesting haematology cases.

On day 2, the guest speakers will discuss the use of point-of-care instruments in busy departments and in the community. They will also discuss how point-of-care can improve patients pathways in acute and secondary care, and what are the key elements for an effective point-of-care governance.

Five sessions comprising mainly lectures and some practical activities to assist with some elements of the IBMS Clinical Biochemistry and Haematology and Hospital Transfusion Practice Specialist Diplomas.

A daylong short course aimed at current or prospective trainers in diagnostic laboratories.

A free 1 day course designed for state registered Biomedical Scientists working within a Blood Transfusion laboratory. This activity is interactive as well as informative. We will focus on setting ideal blood stock levels, managing wastage, component selection quizzes, data tools, getting the best out of the VANESA data portal and much more.
Spaces are limited and each application will be considered by a member of the BSMS team.

Veterinary microbiologists/biomedical scientists, infectious diseases specialists, epidemiologists, early career researchers, clinicians and academics interested in developing a better understanding of current and future diagnostic technologies, which can support clinical decision on antimicrobial treatment, therefore promoting antimicrobial stewardship.

Covering both theoretical and practical aspects of sample preparation and cryo EM techniques, this residential course is ideal for anyone new to cryo EM, but can also be attended by those wanting to refresh their existing skills.
