This session provides an overview of Haematology & Transfusion tests, 'a day in the life' to show what its like to work in the department, a discussion of career routes and case studies, and tips for preparing an application for this specialism.

This session includes an overview of cellular pathology and what it means to work in the sub-specialisms of histopathology & cytology, an introduction to what is expected of a biomedical scientist in cellular pathology, case studies and tips for how to apply for positions in this specialism.

Clinical Immunology & Immunogenetics

Presented by Chelsie Coombes, Specialist Biomedical Scientist, North Bristol NHS Trust.

This session briefly covers some disorders of the immune system and the technology we use to detect them. An aspect of solid organ transplantation is also covered, as well as the testing involved in the renal transplantation pathway.
